The perception that surgery has a high mortality rate compared to survival is not accurate. While surgery carries inherent risks, the vast majority of patients undergoing surgical procedures survive and recover. Deaths during or after surgery are relatively rare and often linked to pre-existing health conditions, complications, or failures in post-operative care, rather than the surgery itself.
