My advice to you is to persue passion. Most successful people are the ones who have persued their passion as a career for sucess happens when passion meets opprtunity. Therefore, it is also important to consider the industry status to avoid doing what everyone else is doing. Dare to be different because you are uniquely unique.
My advice would be make a logical decision after consulting widely. Don’t make the decision based on feelings. I thought I wanted to be a professional dancer when I was in high school 😀 but now my body can’t move as it used to do and as I grow older I don’t think dancing alone could give me the life I wanted.
I find being a scientist so fulfilling to me as it is a mixture of my strengths in school (I liked sciences and maths), I can help solve problems around human health and it pays my bills 😎.
Look at the future trends and look at a course that might be relevant over the next 30-40 years of your life (atleast until you retire or be self employed). Also changes in AI are redefining the older careers.
Some recent advice I got was, “if a career you are pursuing is not what you thought be always ready to leave and start again.” So identify what you think is right for you but always be ready to change your mind or skillset to match what’s needed in the market.
“Choose a field that aligns with your curiosity and strengths, but make sure it also gives you options in the real world.”
Curiosity fuels persistence. If you’re genuinely interested in something, you’ll be more likely to push through challenges.
Strengths matter. If you’re good at problem-solving, communication, creativity, or logic—lean into those. They’ll guide you toward subjects you can thrive in.
But also be strategic. Research how your interests connect to emerging careers, job market demands, or global problems needing solutions. You want both passion and practicality.
Don’t choose based on pressure, trends, or what everyone else is doing. Instead, explore what excites you to learn and equips you for the future.
