Climate change is a slow and long-term change in temperatures and weather patterns that subsequently lead to to unpredictable weather event such as heat waves, floodss, droughts, melting of glaciers and change in the sea level.
The main causes of climate change are emmision of greenhouse gases such as carbom dioxide and menthane gases.
The main cause of climate change in Kenya is emmission of co2 from fuels in the transport and manufacturing industries.Poor waste management practices (environmental pollution) too has a big effect on climate change.

In Kenya, the primary source of climate change, or at least our contribution to it, is the agricultural sector, which accounts for approximately 40% of the country’s greenhouse gas emissions. A significant portion of this comes from livestock, specifically from enteric fermentation (the digestive process of animals like cows that releases methane) and manure left on pastures. Deforestation, tied to land use changes, is another major player, contributing around 38% to emissions as forests are cleared for farming or other needs

The main cause of climate change in the country is human activity. One major example is cutting down trees, which is called deforestation. Another big cause is pollution from industries, which releases harmful gases into the air and affects the environment.

While Kenya’s overall greenhouse gas emissions are relatively low globally, deforestation, unsustainable agriculture, and reliance on biomass energy are the country’s main internal drivers of climate change. At the same time, Kenya is heavily affected by global emissions, despite contributing little to them, making it especially vulnerable to droughts, floods, shifting rainfall patterns, and food insecurity.
