      Hey, ,

Your heart needs oxygen and nutrients to pump blood to the rest of your body.

Coronary arteries are the blood vessels that supply the heart muscle with oxygen-rich blood.

Sometimes, a blood clot (thrombus) forms inside a coronary artery, blocking the blood flow to a part of the heart muscle.

This blockage of the coronary artery by a clot is called coronary thrombosis.

Coronary thrombosis is when a blood clot (called a thrombus) forms in one of the arteries that supply blood to your heart.

Think of these arteries like pipes that carry oxygen-rich blood to keep your heart muscle working. If a clot blocks one of these pipes, it stops blood flow, which can damage the heart and cause a heart attack.
