It’s like this giant, messy adventure that never ends, with varied specialisations in all fields of science. To me, it’s all about the thrill of asking “why” and chasing answers that spark even more questions. But I’ve carved out my own little corner in conservation genomics and bioinformatics. It’s like zooming in on the tiny threads of DNA that tell stories about wildlife and ecosystems. Drawing from my background in Biotechnology studies and the work that I do, I love diving deep into molecular biology and crunching data with programming or statistical tools to uncover patterns that help protect species and tackle climate challenges. It’s a small niche, but it feels like I’m piecing together a puzzle that connects nature and people in places like Kenya.

What I love most about science is that it allows me to collect data and use it to find evidence that can help people, especially those who are most vulnerable, like children and people living in poverty.

Michael Kimwele answered on 9 Jul 2025:
What I love most about science is its power to explain and transform the world.
Science gives us a way to ask questions, test ideas, and find reliable answers—not just guesses or opinions. Whether it’s understanding how the human body works, how the universe began, or how to solve real-world problems like disease, pollution, or food insecurity, science gives us the tools to improve lives.
Also, science never stops—it’s always evolving. There’s always more to discover, and that curiosity, that journey of learning, is incredibly exciting.

Science is challenging-but that’s what makes it exciting! 🔬⚡
It’s always changing, so there’s no room for boredom. You get to learn new things every single day! 🌍✨Even cooler? You’re not just cramming facts-you’re finding solutions to real-life problems. Science helps us understand what already exists and figure out how to make it better. How awesome is that? 💡🚀
So if you love asking “why” and “how,” science is definitely your zone! 🙌
