I will start by stating that nobody is poor except he who is poor in the mind. Financial position should never be a limitation for excellence. Once you are the best oppotrtunities look for you. Whereas scarsity of resources is undeniably a limiting factor in acquisation of quality education, excellence paves ways where nothing else can. There is support and scholarships for excellent students at all levels. Do not allow where you are coming from blur your vision of where you are headed.
At the college or university level you can get a scholarship, however, very few are available at the moment – Therefore you have to be among the very best to get one (I believe you can achieve this). There have been loans from the higher education loans board (HELB) that can help you pay for fees and survive in school. Coming from a poor background is tough but you have to try and never give up on your dreams even though it will mean you will have to sacrifice a lot and even work to make ends meet when in school. It will all pay well at the end.
