Sex-linked disorders are inherited through genes located on the sex chromosomes—primarily the X chromosome, since it carries far more genes than the Y. It is caused by mutation of genes found in the sex chromosomes.

Sex linked disorders are usually inherited and can be passed down as x-linked (affects both females and males) or Y-linked disorders (affects only males). some of the examples are color blindness and hemophilia.
