Tumors, also known as neoplasms, are formed when cells grow and divide uncontrollably, creating a mass of tissue. This abnormal growth can occur due to a breakdown in the body’s natural cell growth and death cycle, where damaged or old cells don’t die off as they should, or new cells are produced in excess. These abnormal cells can accumulate and form a tumor, which can be benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous).
