0 Question: can someone change the gender of a babby while btill in the uterus Keywords: gender Asked by tend20fen to Sally, Mmboyi, Mike, Michael, Jacinta, Gliday, Elkana, Edna, Arnold on 17 Jul 2025.
Michael Kimwele answered on 17 Jul 2025:
No, it is not possible to change a baby’s biological sex (gender) while it is still in the uterus. The sex of a baby is determined at conception by the chromosomes inherited from the parents, and this cannot be altered during pregnancy.
Jacinta Nzilani answered on 17 Jul 2025:
Hey! No, you can’t naturally change the gender of a baby while it’s still in the uterus.
👶 Here’s why, scientifically: A baby’s gender is determined at conception, the moment the sperm (carrying either an X or Y chromosome) meets the egg:
XX = Girl
XY = Boy
Once that happens, the baby’s biological sex is set.
🧬 What about science and technology? There are experimental genetic techniques (like gene editing or embryo selection in IVF), but:
They’re ethically controversial 😬
Not done on pregnancies that are already ongoing
And not allowed in many countries, including Kenya
✅ So in short: You can’t change a baby’s gender in the womb. It’s something set by nature right from the start!
