Yes you can make a U-turn to your grade.

First you have to believe that it’s possible to make a U-turn on your grade and never give up.

Set realistic goals on what you can achieve and start with small steps. If you have a C+ now aim to get a B- in the next cat or exam and keep building on that slowly by slowly you can achieve any grade you want. Remember our time in school is limited and working hard to achieve what you want with how much time you have left in school is important.

Seek for help from friends, teachers and people ahead of you in school.

My favorite quote from Napoleon Hill is “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” Manifest, believe and work hard and you’ll make a U-turn soon enough.

Yes, you absolutely can, if you put your mind to it! I personally made a big change in Form Three, third term, and by the time I sat for KCSE, I was on the right track. I passed and joined university.

There are three things that really helped me:

I identified my weak subjects and asked for help, I talked to classmates who were good in the subjects and teachers regularly so I could understand and improve.

I also focused on my strong subjects. I worked hard to score highly in them so they could help boost my overall grade.

I spoke to a mentor, someone who believed in me and encouraged me. That gave me the confidence to believe in myself too.

I believe these same steps can help you as well. You just need to start . It is never too late!

Absolutely YES — you can make a U-turn on your current grade in high school! Many students who started off with poor grades ended up among the top performers after making the right changes. What matters now is not where you are, but where you’re willing to go and what you’re willing to do to get there.
Here’s what you should do to change your academic performance:
      1. Own Your Situation – No Excuses
Acknowledge your current grade honestly. Don’t blame teachers, classmates, or circumstances. Taking full responsibility empowers you to take full control.

      2. Set Clear and Realistic Goals
Decide what grades you want in each subject. Be specific: “I want to move from a D in Biology to a B+ by the end of the term.”

      3. Identify Your Weak Areas
Go through your past tests or ask your teachers where you’re struggling. Focus on the why behind your low grades — is it poor time management, lack of understanding, skipping assignments?

      4. Create a Study Plan
Make a daily timetable that includes:

      Time for reading and revision

Practice tests (especially for sciences and math)

Breaks and rest (to avoid burnout)

      5. Seek Help
      Don’t struggle in silence:

      Ask teachers questions

      Join study groups

Talk to top students in class

Use online resources like YouTube or Khan Academy

      6. Cut Distractions
Limit time on your phone, social media, or things that waste your time. Replace them with activities that build your mind.

      7. Stay Consistent
Improvement doesn’t happen overnight. Be patient and keep at it even when results seem slow. Small daily improvements lead to big changes.

      8. Believe in Yourself
Your mindset matters. Remind yourself daily: “I am capable of improving. I can do this.” Surround yourself with people who believe in you too.

      9. Pray and Stay Positive
Faith, motivation, and a good attitude give you strength even on tough days. You’ll need that as you push yourself to grow.

      10. Track Your Progress
Keep a diary or notebook where you record your progress weekly. Celebrate small wins and keep improving.

Bottom Line: Your current grade is not permanent. If you want to turn around your performance, you can — with the right mindset, discipline, and support.

Yes, it’s totally possible! 🎯 All you need is the right attitude, some dedication, and to figure out how you learn best. Some people get it in class the first time-others (like me 😅) need to go over it again after the teacher is done. And that’s completely okay!

✨ Be patient, stay consistent, and don’t be shy to ask questions. Success isn’t about being perfect-it’s about finding your own groove! 💪📚

For topics you’ve already covered, try this:
✅ List them from most challenging to least
✅ Get help from a teacher, a friend, or form a study group
✅ Go through each topic one by one
✅ Tick them off as you understand them-it feels good and keeps you motivated!

You’ve got this! Hakuna stress, just keep going step by step. 🌟
